Industrial real estate company and AyalaLand Inc. subsidiary AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC) has signed a lease agreement with China-based firm Newbie Station Logistics Inc. to establish operations at the ALogis Calamba site in Laguna.
The Calamba site was turned over to Newbie Logistics in September 2023. Through the lease agreement, the logistics firm will occupy 33,400 square meters of gross leasable space.
This is in addition to Newbie Station’s initial lease contract with ALLHC signed in 2021, just as it was entering the Philippine market, for 13,000 square meters of warehouse leasable area at ALogis Biñan 4 site in Laguna, located at ALLHC’s newly-built Laguna Technopark.
Newbie Station announced it has also leased an additional 11,600 square meters at the ALogis Biñan 4 facility. The additional space at the Biñan 4 site was turned over in May 2023.
The ALLHC said Newbie Station’s tenancy in the two sites is expected to generate employment for around 1,300 workers in the province and other nearby localities, showing the company’s position as a “preferred partner in logistics real estate solutions.”
“We are thankful to Newbie Logistic for continuing to trust ALogis for their warehouse requirements for their growing operations here in the Philippines. Their expansion not only strengthens their presence, but also creates additional job opportunities for local residents – a goal we proudly share with our locators across all our developments,” said ALLHC Chief Operating Officer Patrick C. Avila.
Newbie Logistic Marketing Director Jingwu Yan said ALLHC is dedicated to “providing state-of-the-art infrastructure, strategically located facilities, and a team that is passionately invested in our success made them the perfect choice for us.”
“ALLHC provides us with the robust foundation we need to expand our footprint and continue to redefine international cross-border fulfillment,” Yan added.
ALLHC currently oversees nine properties in Luzon namely ALogis sites in Biñan, Laguna; Naic, Cavite; Calamba, Laguna; Porac, Pampanga; and Santo Tomas, Batangas. Expansion of 11,000 square meters of leasable space in the ALogis Naic 2 at the Cavite Technopark is ongoing.
The industrial real estate firm is also venturing into the “build-to-suit facilities” space to cater to businesses who want customized and specifically designed facilities. — Khriscielle Yalao
