Mr. Yap, Filipino, 85, has been Vice Chairman of the Company from February 24, 2016. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company from 2000 to February 2016 and Vice Chairman from 1993 to 2000.

His other significant positions include: Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of publicly-listed companies Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company, and Manila Mining Corporation, of Far Southeast Gold Resources, Inc., Lepanto Investment and Development Corporation, Diamant Manufacturing and Trading Corporation, Diamond Drilling Corporation of the Philippines, and Shipside, Inc.; Chairman of the Board of publicly-listed company Zeus Holdings, Inc., Kalayaan Copper-Gold Resources, Inc., and Yapster e-Conglomerate, Inc.; Director of Manila Peninsula Hotel, Inc., Philippine Associated Smelting & Refining Corp. (PASAR).

He graduated with a degree in. B.A. Philosophy from the University of San Carlos in Cebu. He has extensive experience in the mining industry. He served as Chairman of the PSE Board of Governors from 2000 to 2002.
